Within each school district’s comprehensive system of educational services, Title 16 of the Vermont Statutes requires each public school to develop and maintain an educational support system (ESS) for children who require additional assistance in order to succeed in the general education environment. Many factors may affect a student’s school performance, including overall nutrition and health, vision or hearing difficulties, emotional stress, or the need for a different instructional approach. Our teachers meet to review student needs and offer one another instructional alternatives. If concerns continue, a child may be referred to the Educational Support Team (EST) for a more thorough review. Parents will be asked to provide input for this EST review.
